Despite the lack of state wide solar incentives, going solar in California is still a great move for homeowners in the state.

The primary reason for this is due to high electricity prices. Since homeowners are already paying a lot for their energy, solar will offer great savings without the state incentives.

Of the major utilities in CA, only LADWP still has a solar rebate. Some of the smaller utilities throughout the state still have solar rebates, which would make solar even better if you were in their service area.

Speaking of the utilities, the California Public Utilities Commission recently passed a new net metering policy NEM 2.0 that will effect new solar customers very soon, and all Californians by 2019.
