New York is among the best states in the country when it comes to going solar.
The state tax credit is a huge incentive in New York. When you couple it with the federal tax credit, you can have 55% of your system cost taken away by the two tax credits. There is also a state rebate program, NYSERDA, that can add onto your savings if your area is not already maxed out. The major utilities don’t have any solar specific rebates or incentives, though some of the smaller ones do if you live in their coverage area.
